WHAT ARE JARS OF JOY?

Jars of Joy is cake in a jar that you can eat straight away. it started as a passion project of mine to have Zero0% waste by using up all cake off cuts (cake pieces from levelling off the cake or cut offs of obscure cake shapes) left over cake mix & ingredients in our kitchen. This is then layered with buttercream/sauces/compote and jarred up and sent to you to indulge. They come is 2 sizes

1lb (400g) = 3 1/2 cupcakes

1/2lb (200g) -1 3/4 cupcakes

We offer this on a monthly basis & any time we have leftover cake. For this months current drop & reviews shop here

'Our cakes are butter based & a madeira texture; meaning they are rich, moist and slightly dense in comparison to a margarine/baking butter or oil base cake. We never add any gelatine or preservatives unless stated and are suitable for vegetarians & halal'

What are are Jars of Joy & how are they Made?

These are then layered with buttercream and jarred up and sent to you to indulge.

How often do you do Jars of Joy?

We do 1-2 drops a month (depending on how busy we are) and flavours are vary on each occasion as its dependent on our Artisan Cake Orders that week

Can I make a Custom Order?

Yes, you can, a minimum order of 6 Jars which are £7.50 each. Please select custom order and let us know the flavours & number of Jars you'd like or alternatively email us on hello@theindulgentsugarplum.com

For an additional cost you can also customise the labelling too.

How many items can I order?

From our fortnightly uploads is as little as 1 jar to as many as you like. For custom flavour jars for a specific date or occasion it's a minimum of 6 jars

How are the items packaged?

Cake is packaged in a Plastic jar of 400ml. The shape of the jar changes from time to time as this project is all about Zero Waste, Sustainability, kindness to the Earth, Recycling & bringing you Cake Joy no matter the Jar shape, as long as you are indulged! They are then individually wrapped & packaged securely for postal.

How to Store Jars of Joy?

You can store your jars in the fridge and our plastic jars are suitable for freezing.

Serving Instructions:

Puddings/Desserts: Best results - place in the fridge for up to 2hrs to firm up & then enjoy. Consume within 5 days of purchase

Cake Jars: Can be stored in the fridge for up to 10 days (plastic jars can be frozen) For ultimate indulgence leave at room temperature for 30min-1hr before devouring.

Do you have vegan or gluten free options?

From time to time, we have vegan options, but we do not do gluten free cakes unfortunately.

What is the Delivery or Collection Options?

Jars are posted via Royal Mail

There are 3 different options with Royal Mail - 1st Class which takes 1-3 days, there is NO tracking option for this service. Royal Mail 24, takes 1-2 days and Special delivery which is 'Guaranteed Next Day before 1pm'. All mentioned timing are advised on the Royal mail website & note Royal Mail does NOT deliver on Sundays.

Evri is Next day service but can take up to 1-3 days and they do deliver Saturdays & Sundays. A safer option if you'd like to receive your order over the weekend.

Unfortunately, we have NO control in the delivery operations at Royal Mail or Evri so we can only ask for you to choose the appropriate delivery to suit you. We hope these services reach you in the stated times given but please note if there are delays it maybe due to strike action or internal issues with each carrier which we are NOT privy to. And if there should be strike action, we will let you know and advise you to use another carrier instead. 

Collection from our studio is available, Only from SE12. Full address is emailed to you when orders are being dispatched. If you do not collect your jars without notifying us of a new collection date in a timely fashion we will donate your jars to another client. As the intention of Jars of Joy is for us to have zero waste & an empty fridge of cake ready for a fresh week. If this should occur, we will offer you a credit note to use on a new purchase.

Where is my Order?

Please check your tracking number if you have selected Royal Mail 24, Special or Evri. These service offer tracking, and you will receive an email updating you on your delivery which can take up to 2 days & sometimes 3 as advised by both services. If you have selected 1st class, there is no tracking for this service and can take anything between 1-3 days to arrive - we have no access to track this.

If there's something wrong with my order?

Please email us with any issues & must include photos detailing the issue and we will be on hand to resolve this as soon as possible. Our email address is hello@theindulgentsugarplum.com

Cracked Jar?

Don’t worry - we’ll give you a jar on us. Please send us photo evidence and we’ll replace this jar for you.

Can I get a refund?

We do not offer refunds, but a replacement jar(s) or credit note which is valid for 12 months from the day requested and can be used towards any of our products.

Allergen Advice & Vegan

Unfortunately we do not currently provide gluten free cakes. Our cakes are made in a kitchen which uses nuts, wheat & dairy and are not suitable for those with nut, wheat or dairy allergies; If you any allergies please state in the additional info box on the orders page. As much as we would love to indulge everyone - it is not always possible to create cakes to suit every allergy - please enquire before placing your order if you have allergies
